What is Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy?

Proliferative Diabetic Retinopathy is the most advanced sight-threatening form of diabetic retinopathy present in about 7% of diabetics. If untreated, it can progress to a detached retina. Your primary care, retinal doctor, kidney specialist and if you are pregnant, your obstetrician, must all communicate with each other to coordinate your care. We employ wide angle imaging/optos, the latest PASCAL with navigated laser, intravitreal injections, and surgery where indicated.
